Day 31…

Another day in Bogota!

The kids slept until nearly 8:00am, which would have been amazing but the sleeping through the night has become a thing of the past.  We are still trying to work on when & how much water to give them.  I think that we have been loading them up too much right before bedtime.  Last night around 2:30am our middle son woke up & went to Grandma & says “necesito che-che Grandma, por favor”  she says, “”go” but then he returns & asks for a drink of water.  Being the sweet & wonderful Grandma that she is she gives him a drink of water.  But then the little stinker goes & wakes up his two sleeping brothers & tells them that Grandma is passing out water!  Needless to say everybody was back in bed within the hour but we had a long talk tonight about not waking up our family to go to the bathroom & we had everybody go to the bathroom right before bed.  Oh parenting, will we ever get the hang of you?!?

Today we went to the park & played in the sand until it got too cold & rainy.  (Surprise, surprise)

Tyler dug 2 holes…

Then Darth climbed in…

This is how it ended. Lots of arena in the house today.

Afterwards we headed into the city for lunch.

The bridge we cross nearly everyday heading into the city.

6 of these trucks crossed under us honking, we don´t know why but we took pictures to google later.

We ate at a new restaurant today Kokorico.  Why you ask, because when we were walking back from the mall yesterday we spotted it & saw that it had an indoor playground, equals a stop for our family.

It was delicious (also not healthy at all).  We had fried chicken & the kids asked us to order “porcion de frijol”, they made a great choice it was delicious.  It tasted like chili, Martha said, “this is the first thing that tasted like home”.  Needless to say Tyler & Martha both ordered an extra bowl.

Fried chicken & chili, not too shabby

Everybody got plastic gloves to wear while you eat your chicken. Felt a bit like a surgeon as I tore into the fried goodness!

A few pieces left, we took home to eat after the kids are in bed 🙂

Afterwards we had a night of playing with ranas (thanks Gladney friends for leaving us some of your toys!) & a great bath time.

The ranas are slowly attacking Grandma.

The only downer was during the girl´s bath time, Darth went poo-poo in the potty but saw fit to save up a small turd during her shower too.  Once again big sis was pretty upset.

Tomorrow is Sunday & we will have officially been in Bogota a month.  Sundays are hard, we miss our church family & the fellowship, I pray that everyone makes it a priority to go to church.  Set the alarm, don´t hit snooze (no matter how late you were out the night before), don´t let rain stop you, take a tylenol for your headache.  Don´t miss out on what God has to say!

At the dinnermesa,

Praying for good news and that y’all can return to Texas soon! We can imagine how hard it is to be over seas as we had to spend a month in a foreign country but ours was broken up between 3 trips. Don’t lose heart!!! This is a hard road to travel and you just have to remind yourself of God’s promise to not give you more than you can handle. Love reading the updates.

Thanks for another sweet reminder that what we take for granted in this country of ours is a rare privilege in many parts of the world. Prayed for you when I was at church Sunday. Good reminder that you are not with your church family right now — but SOON is everyone’s prayer.
